A happy playlist and some of my favorite lyrics.

Music has mega-power when it comes to moods. Anyone who’s been rendered incapacitated by Sarah McLachlan’s Angel can attest to that. But aside from turning you into a hysterical, blubbering mess, music can get you super stoked about life, too.

There are few things that can get under your skin and grab hold of your still-beating heart like music (and that dude from Indiana Jones, but I digress).

So, I created a happy playlist on Spotify (below!), as the cure for your not-so-spectacular moments. Listen to it anytime you’re feeling down. It’s (practically) guaranteed to make you feel better. Immediately.

Because how can you not be happy with lyrics like these?

“I see the magazines working that Photoshop
We know that shit ain’t real
Come on now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty just raise ’em up
Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top” (Meghan Trainor, All About That Bass)

“Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world”  (Imagine Dragons, I’m on Top of the World)

“I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day” (Jimmy Kliff, I Can See Clearly Now)
